What we know so far: This is a hand-lettered sign on galvanised sheet metal with a wooden frame. It appeared at 4380 St. Laurent Boulevard for a very short period (1969-1971), before the business was renamed Salaison Alpha (Alpha Meats). Alpha can be seen in the photograph above, which dates from 1986. This sign is remarkable for its skilled hand-painted lettering and its lack of deterioration.
